Basic / Initiation Level

Suitable for all ages and levels. Learn to surf or improve your surfing at the best Surf School in Playa El Paredon, Guatemala.

Private Classes

Most of our classes are private, meaning you have 1 private instructor all to yourself. It is ideal for children from 4 to 10 years old, also for adults with physical limitations, people who do not know how to swim or are very afraid of the sea.

Group Classes

If you come as a family or with a group of friends. Live your first surfing experience as a family with friends or joining a small group of 2 or 3 students per instructor. Groups no larger than 5 people. Recommended for children from 11 years old and any adult without age limit. It is grouped according to the level and ages of the students.

Classes include all necessary equipment

Surfboards for basic level, very safe and stable for beginners. Safety Strap (Leash), and rashguard to protect you from the sun and scratches. Your class also includes water to hydrate you well and a good coffee from our cafe so that you have all the energy to enjoy the waves, as well as use of the hotel facilities.

Class Schedules

At Playa El Paredón, the sea dictates the time when we can give classes and when it is not possible, we depend on nature and its cycles to define schedules. For safety reasons for the student, we only give classes at low tides , these tides vary day by day. Starting Time

Between 7am y 5:30pm, 2 hours before low tide to 1 hour after low tide.

About our Classes

The first 20 minutes of class include a basic explanation and simulation of how to paddle and stand on the board, as well as a little stretching to avoid cramps. The next 40 minutes of class the students enter the sea with the instructors and mostly everyone stands on the board and surfs their first wave in their initiation class.
